Step 1: Open a fresh Google Sheet spreadsheet on your system.

Step 2: Click the “Extensions” option given in the menu bar. Then, a drop-down menu will appear. Now Follow: Extensions > Add-ons > Get Add-ons

Step 3: You will be taken to the Google Workspace Marketplace. You can see the search bar in the window's top right corner. Search for “GPT for Sheets and Docs” there.

Step 4: Once you click on the first option in the above image, you will be asked to install that extension. Click “Install” then “Continue.”

Step 5: Choose the Google account connected to your Google Sheets. After that, click the “Allow” button when you see a message asking for permission. This will let the extension access what it needs to to make changes to your spreadsheets.

Step 6: Once you finish the installation, you will see the instructions pop-up window on the Google Spreadsheet.

The instruction window says: to start with ChatGPT for spreadsheets, set your OpenAI API key.
